Checking-In

Just got back from Iloilo City and I oh so miss my pc and being constantly on-line! Terrible dial-up connection back there during our visit and the broadband was set-up a day after we left (thanks, Mom!) - something to look forward to our next visit.

We stayed home most of the time because of the bad weather. Toni got scared of the heavy rains and was always panicky; so we locked ourselves in the room which seemed to be soundproof (a blessing). I read to her and told stories so as to appease her. The only time we went out to go malling was when I did some shopping for hubby because his officemate's flight has been moved to an earlier date kaya ang mga bilin ay dapat nang bilhin.

After ten days, Toni started missing her "Papu" and Mama, my in-laws. So back to Roxas we went. My Mom travelled with us because of a scheduled meeting with the Governor. Buti na lang at may katulong ako kay Toni. Our trip was not within her nap time so she was likot all the way. Hay!

And so we're settled back here once again.

Pasyal-pasyal muna...

Toni and I are off to Iloilo come Friday. We'll go visit my Mom and celebrate Tito Mike's birthday on the 30th. I always look forward to our Iloilo trips because it means rest for me and bonding time for the lola and apo (my Mom and Toni).

Soon, I'll be saying hello again to quiet cheerful mornings and cool breeze all day long. You see, the village where we live hosts only 5 houses to date. Practically vacant, the trees serve as natural fan to us residents and home to the birds and the bees. We actually wake up to cheerful chirps ala Cinderella :-)

To sum up, Y-E-H-E-Y!

"Tuwing umuulan at kapiling ka..."

It's been a lazy week, the rain is to blame. Such is the time when sleeping becomes a doubly glorious thing to do and loafing around has an excuse.

But sadly, I do not have the luxury of napping in the afternoons because Toni doesn't nap anymore. So lately, si Toni ang kapiling ko tuwing umuulan. Thanks also to Nescafe 3 in 1 for keeping me good company.

Postscript: I miss you Tatay and it's sad to know that it doesn't rain out there in the Kingdom...

At last!

This is long overdue.

I've been wanting to start my own blog site and put a stop to my being in invisible mode. For over a year or so, I have been a silent observer in my network of friends - their blogs and e-mails. Then came this itch to "write" again.

My afternoons are never complete without me reading blogs. It's my fourth and much-awaited item once I've sat in front of my pc (the first being my on-line correspondence with hubby, 2nd my friendster galore, and 3rd my yahoomail and google time). I have secretly divided this room between me and my 20-month old Toni. There is no demarcation line but hers is the right side where she can forever bounce and skip, dance and leap and watch Dora or Barney or her vocabulary builder dvd. The left side is all mine, where I sit and surf. Watching over Toni and enjoying my "me" time -  in just one room, at the same time-- just divine.

Going back to blogs, I so enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy a good book. It keeps me posted of the events and developments in the lives of my relatives and friends and yes, even strangers who live interesting lives. A blog on a good cup of coffee or a kiddo's birthday party or even just sentiments and travel tales keeps me good company. Nevermind if I skip snacks so long as I get to read here online and be as well filled up.

And so, here it is - the commencement of my blog journey. Have a happy trip, Ivy.
